As a child, I assigned my parents their favorite colors. I told my mom her favorite color was green. She played along for many years . . . ok, well, my whole childhood. Now her favorite color is pink. I'm not convinced that its wholly unrelated to my departure to the South.
Any-who, there was a bedtime story she told me often: "The Green Monster". Now, this story had the same basic plot outline, but it was never truly the same story twice. The Green Monster was a nice monster. He always invited me over to eat green food and sleep in his green (guest) bed. Everything was green.
Now, there is a different Green Monster, one that isn't so friendly. It's been evolving for quite some time. I saw this website in a banner ad yesterday. If you skim the website and go the "FAQ" section, you'll see the question "does it disinfect?" The answer is "No". It was then and there that I decided the Green Monster was out of control. It is packaged in plastic bottles (isn't plastic supposed to be bad for the environment?) and it doesn't disinfect. To me, that's whole point of cleaning: to disinfect. Call me crazy if you'd like.
As this man suggests, green is in. To me, it's officially out of control. Wal-Mart is running an ad campaign on all of it's earth friendly products. And, really, if Wal-Mart is in on it, there's gotta be something wrong. Yes, I shop at Wal-Mart, but I think I may be shopping at Aldi's from here on out. I just can't support madness.
